Well I´ve arrived in Bolivia, and am loving it. It took 2 days of 5am starts to get here, with a free camp in one of the most gorgeous places ever on the dodgiest roads ever, but its totally worth it.
We arrived at our hotel in Uyuni (we have a break from camping because its too cold in Bolivia) wet and cold, but the hotel was brilliant. The beds were huge and so warm and the hotel has a restaurant downstairs that does the best pizzas in S.America & much better than home. I even tried llama pizza, nice, but quite chewy
That evening we just ate, got warm and chilled out, getting used to the altitude.
Next morning we went on a trip around Uyuni. First stop the train cemetery, which had loads of old trains and train tracks for us to climb on (the boys were in their element) and take pictures. It was pretty fun. Then we went on a lake with flamingos and other wildlife around for more photo opportunities. Afterwards we went to a salt factory and finally we went to the Salt flats, 13km squared of salt, looking incredibly gorgeous. As it has been raining here alot they were covered in water so we all just frolicked around on them having a ball. We then drove through them to a salt hotel, where everything- the building, beds, tables and chairs are all made out of salt. That evening a few of us stayed out to watc the sunset. It was very cloudy, but that only made it more pretty, chaning te sky blue, grey, red, purple, orange etc. Also there were thunderstorms going on all around us. The drive home in the dark and massive thunderstorm was quite interesting as we got stuck for a while in water, but eventually we made it home safe and sound.
