Hola, well I´ve just discovered this fabulous journal from sta and thought it would be a great way for me to remember my trip, while also being easy for you guys to access. Also I´ve been very lazy and haven´t actually started writting a journal by hand, and seeing as typing is much quicker (yes computers are taking over everything) I decided I might give this a go.
So I´ve been in Argentina for 2 days and am still finding my feet, but loving it. The city is divided into about 7 (I think) different districts. So far I´ve only explored one, Palermo, where my hostel is. Its lovely, with a great weekend market which starts at about 2pm and go on through to the evening. I have now been twice, there is just so much to look at. There are some great bars all of which don´t really get going until midnight, as with everything here, but I am yet to really discover the nightlife. I still have that to look forward to.
Last night a group of 11 of us from our hostel went for dinner. It was one of the girls birthdays so we went somewhere quite fancy, a sweedish restaurant. We were there from 10.30 until 2am, so by the time we left I was feeling very full and quite exhausted, so the club night was cancelled fro some of us.
I checked out of my hostel this morning had a wander around the market again. I might try and get downtown this arfternoon or at least venture slightly further afield. The city is pretty big (well it certainly looked impressive when we landed just after sunset all lit up), but all easily accessible. There are regular buses and the subway. However so far I have only used taxis as they are everywhere and extremely cheap.
Later this afternoon I am moving into my homestay, which isn´t far from where I am now, so fingers crossed for me that goes ok and I´ll be sure to keep you posted.
For now, Chao
