Afternoon. I thought I would do a quick update whilst the weather isn't too good. It has been a very hectic week all in all, we now have somewhere to live woooooo!! Which is a short walk to Bondi beach, Bronte beach and my family here which is perfect. Also I have somehow managed to find a job with a lot of help from Cousin Amanda. I am now working for a day care centre in Bond junction about a 15 minute walk from where we live which is great. Everything has happened really fast, somewhere to live and a job all in a week. I start work next week so I will let you know how it goes.
Apart from job and flat hunting we have had a brilliant few days. We went to the ashes in the SCG which as you all know where amazing as the Barmy Army was triumphant!! Sitting there in the crowd was so much fun as the Barmy Army was not for a minute silent (unlike the Aussies). The atmosphere, the cricket (England) and the weather was gorgeous! We felt like we melted to be honest it was that hot!! I was expecting the cricket to be a bit of a boring day to be honest but I was really surprised to find it the opposite. It was so much fun supporting England-probably because we were winning though if I am honest. Stu was my personal rule handbook he educated me all day about what was going on, so I now know what a 4 is and what a 6 is!! Get me!! Dad you would have been proud!
The next day I had my interview which I was a tad scared about but it went well and we celebrated that night with a yummy meal and wine :)
Yesterday I think we had the most perfect Bondi day. We got up lateish, had brunch and walked down to Bondi beach for a stroll. We wandered through the markets held at the public school where we got fitted out with some Aussie essentials, hats, sunglasses and I bought some board shorts-girly ones as stu put it. The weather was stifling so after a yummy mango ice cream-OMG the mangos here are delicious nothing compared to home we walked back home for a quick change then we headed to Bronte beach for a dip. Unfortunately when we got there no one was in the water which we thought very odd for such a lovely day until we discovered all the Bluebottles jelly fish (I think that's what they were called). Instead we went for a dip in the pool which is on the beach, looks out to sea and you get splashed as the waves fall over the edge. We were very happy! To top it all off we had a yummy prawn stir fry and a few beers was a great day!
I shall have to pop off as I am looking after the kids this afternoon. We had a great morning exploring centennial park where I got bitten to death again by the mosquito's grrrr!
Hope everyone is well at home, toodle pip x x x x
