Okay so apparently I am rubbish at this blog. Sorry guys. Im not sure if you got my last post back in australia so I have posted it again.

Our last 5 days of oz was spent in cairns. It rained the entire time! Cairns itself is not amazing but we got to go scuba diving which was incredible. I was very scared but luckily we went diving with my friends boyfriend so I felt safe! the weather was terrible so the visibility was apparently pretty bad - only 8 meters but for me it was great!

Now we are in new zealand. it is stunning. we are travlling with the kiwi experience so its nice as you get to spend the entire time with the same group of peopel so we have made lots of friends. we went fishing up in kaikora and managed to catch an octupus (which we out back), lots of perch and 3 crayfish! We had loads between us and got to go home and cook our catch - pretty cool. We saw loads of dolphins and seals and alabatros too so it was great.

The next big stop we had was in franz joseph. We wanted to climb the glacier which is an 8 hour hike but the glacier is melting so they postponed all hikes as it was dangerous. the only option they were offering was to get a helicpoter up to the top of the glacier, spend 3 hours on the ice and then helicopter back down. We did this as the helicopter was great! It was a shame we couldnt walk it but it was lucky we still managed to get up there.

We are in queenstown now which is really nice. Its the first big place we have been to since we've arrived and we have been here for nearly 2 weeks! It is so sparse - we will be driving for hours and not see anybody and all the hostels we have stayed at before queenstown were in tiny tiny villages. It is sarahs birthday tomorrow so we are going to enjoy our last day in queenstown. We have been very lucky with the weather - its been really sunny apart from today so hopefully it will be nice tomorrow.

Our next main stop with internet is wellington up in the north island and then in auckland in about 2 weeks. I will update you in auckland as then we will have travelled the whole of the north island so will have lots to tell you!
