Hello!
Well we finally arrived in Siem Reap after a long few days of travel. Our bus to bangkok was actually not too bad, no problems at all and we got there on time. Upon arriving at 5:30am, we went to the same hostel that we had stayed at before and got a room and slept until around 10am. Then we got up and went out for the day... it is the Thai New Year right now which is a big celebration where people throw lots of water and white powder all over you... it was pretty crazy and a good cultural experience. We got absolutely soaked and the streets were so packed you couldn't even move. Anyway that day we went to Jim Thompson's house, MBK where we picked up a camera, and the weekend market. Then back to the hostel, getting soaked all the way!
This morning we woke up and went off to the bus station... took a 4 hour bus to the border. We met a guy from New York on the bus that we travelled with all the way through. Once getting through the border, we negotiated a cab to take us to Siem Reap. This was a 3 hour journey, and a crazy one! The road was absolutely terrible, it is amazing the car didn't break down or get flat tires. We dodged many motorcycles, cows, dogs, bikes, people... it was also very apparent that Cambodia is not as developed as Thailand. Anyway we finally made it, found a place to stay, just ate dinner, and are now trying to figure out our plans for going to Angkor Wat tomorrow. We will let you know how that goes!
