Visited Beijing Zoo today, felt very sorry for animals. All locked in tiny cages like you see at the circus. Chester Zoo doesn't even compare to it! Only really went to see the pandas, nice experience to see them chomping away on their bamboo shoots.

We went to the Great Wall of China!! An amazing experience. Went on a 9km hike on the old unrennovated parts so was a bit dangerous at times. Felt like 20 miles, up and down, up and down and more. Shattered by the time we had finished, it'll keep us fit though. Journey was 3 hours there and 3 hours back, horrible! Experience was worth the journey though.

Had to go to the train station today so we decided to venture onto a bus. Newest experience yet! When u think there is no more room on the bus they still manage to fit more on. Never seen so many people at a station, thousands of people all starring at us, the only westerners there. Went to Behai Park for the afternoon. A park, with a huge boating lake and gardens. We've been to Tiananmen square and The Forbidden city. Really hot and smoggy. sooo much walking. Loads of people trying to con us and trying to get us to see their artwork! dont take no for an answer! Hi everyone! We have arrived in Beijing safe and sound. Just been recovering from the jet lag so haven't done much yet. Today we've been to see the Drum & Bell Tower, very interesting. Also been trying to get our bearings right whilst trying to avoid being run over by the thousands of bikes!! they are everywhere!! Food not so bad so far but if it gets bad we've found the nearest McDonalds so we won't starve! Hope everyone is ok. xx
