So we finally arrived in Cairns after dramatic time at Singapore airport. Apparantely it is Quantas' policy to overbook its flights and even though we arrived at the airport 2 hours early we were the first people to not get onto the flight. So after waiting and waiting and getting a lot of free food off Quantas we were told that a family of three hadn't turned up so we could go. We had to rush through the terminal carrying three bags of food (we got all we could for our voucher value) and just made the flight. The best thing was that we got all three seats so we could spread out!!! Spent a few days in Cairns relaxing by the lagoon as we can't swim in the sea because of the crocodiles!!! Just planning out what we are going to do for the next 3 months of our lives. We've been on a trip to the rainforest today, went up the moutains on the Kuranda Scenic Railway, walked around the village and some jungle trails for a while and then got the Skyrail back to Cairns.
