Wednesday 20th - Saturday 23rd Feb - Koh Lanta
After an interesting taxi ride to the ferry port, we finally got to our destination , the Lanta Garden Home. Situated right on a beautiful long, white beach and a scattering of hotels and restaurants. We stayed in a beach hut just off the beach. It was very spacious and we have to say that these beds were the hardest beds known to man and getting out of bed in the morning was like a hoodini trick!!! Didn't do much here apart from relax, swim, sunbathe, relax, swim, sunbathe, beer, beer, oh and ice cream!! On one of the nights, the local staff put on an 'entertainment' show for guests. This included fire juggling (v.good), two sweet children doing traditional thai dancing, and two not so sweet thai ladies, sorry gents dancing around in tight shorts and bras! and white socks! very strange. We enjoyed our time here but there isn't a whole heap of things to do to entertain, the highlight was when a local guy called 'Mr Smiley' introduced himeself to us - he was a red indian!!! Also during the day we saw a tourist in the tightest white swimmers you've ever seen which entertained us for a while!! 4 days is enough time here for anyone whose planning a trip.
