So after arriving at the hostel today in Byron Bay, we found a very familiar room mate.. Dan Borg (matts cabbie mate) we went out in true traveler style to have a $5 dinner at a place called Cheeky monkeys. A few drinks later and Matt and Dan were asked to go on stage to lap dance a girl for a chance to win a sky dive. They didn't fancy it!

Day 2 at Byron and we seem to see all of the people that Matt and me met in Port Maquarie.. We decided to hire some surf boards with 2 guys Lucas and Jessie and put what we'd learnt from Richards surfing lesson into action! If you haven't tried surfing, then just so you know it's a lot harder to stand up then you think..Although we did a couple of times again.
Byron Bay is a very hippy town with lots of street musicians playing very unusual instruments. Most of them sound terrible :/.
Day 3 and were really looking forward to kayaking with dolphins and whales today!!!
The woman that checked us in kept saying good luck guys, 2 people didn't come back yesterday. Although we knew she was joking, we later read that on that day a woman swimming, had been killed by a shark in New South Wales. Scary stuff!!
Anyway... We went out for a 3hour kayak with some funny tour guides. We noticed some turtles, which was really cool but unfortunately didn't see any dolphins in the water this time :(.
The three of us are heading up to Surfers Paraside tomorrow! We've just booked a 2week itinery to drive on Fraser Island and sail in the Whitsunday's islands!! Soooo excited! :)
