Hi Guys,

I have now reached Shanghai.

The thing i dont like about China is the spitting. We are talking hocking and gagging spitting-not pleasant. Also bizarrely all the children had slits in their trousers. Young kids wander around with their bums on show when they walk. The Chinese dont like nappys so this is what they do. I would take a picture but feel i may get chucked out the country for being a perv.

The train was long, it wasn't as bad as I thought.

This is just a quick one as i dont have much time. The train was 6 bunks divided by top, middle and bottom. I slept on the bottom, just in case i did some random sleep walking in the night like i have done. We were on the train for 13 hrs. I tried to sleep most of it and if i didnt i read my book. Shanghai is great. Darren and i both really like it. It seems to be much busier that Beijing with a lot more to see that is close by. Our first day we checked in and went walking down the main street (najin) street and over to look at the financial district. Imagine the Shanghai version of the New York City skyline. That is kinda what it looks like. WE did a lot of walking. However we had a free night so Darren and i retraced our steps to see it all at night time. It looks amazing so pretty. We ended up going to a bar that is shaped like a lighthouse that overlooks the skyline. Expensive drinks but well worth the view.

Today we went to the Bazzar Market. Very busy with lots and lots of little shops to look in and buy things. I got a couple of little bits but am trying not to spend too much as i have a lot to buy and see.

Need to eat more fruit as the constant eating of chinese food is starting to make me feel sluggish. We had peking duck on our last night in Beijing. We are finding that generally food is near enough the same as home but a lot more variety of dishes.

Anyway off out tonight for a few beers to celebrate a fellow tour members birthday, Helen (the irish one). Funnily enough we could be heading to an Irish bar.
