The great beach setup
If only we had aircon, this place would be great. We wandered down to the local beach for a morning dip, just to bring us back to life. We relaxed in the cool water, looking up at the amazing setup on the beach. Sun loungers under palm trees on white sand, sun lounger cabanas which was raised up and had a small roof. These were right on the waters edge and had an amazing view. All these had full bar service and towels included. We contemplated relaxing for the day, thought long and hard and in the end walked home. Maybe a later day. We didn't realise it but on the way home, we were getting really burnt!!
When we got back we were really lackey that the owner was heading out, heading to a place a few houses down from our next accommodation. So instead of a bus and kilometres of walking, a $30 taxi or a $20 transfer, we made it for free!
We arrived at Mustique suites and made our way upstairs and into a small box of paradise. A climate controlled air conditioner!
We headed into the city to a famous Dutch restaurant for lunch and a beer. For the first time I sampled a Frikadel, along with a polar (a Venezuelan beer you don't need to try). It really was a great place to people watch and take in Willemstad, the Capitol of Curaçao. The outdoor area was right opposite a central park and next to huge signs (which are in the photos). We finished with a photo or two in the Curaçao sign and headed to walk the streets.
We started walking home via the Queen Emma bridge taking photos on the way when just after we crossed, all of a sudden an alarm starts ringing. Next one end of the bridge starts swinging open as people scurry to get off the close side. A few people did not get off and they have to wait until the bridge closes again to get off, ha ha.
We made it home, put our feet up and booked a car. Day com-plete
