Snorkelling to the plane

We Checked out of our great little hotel and got in the car, time to head north to the Christoffel National Park we visited yesterday. There are two drives in this park which were both interesting. First we completed the mountain drive which had ruins, bearded trees and some great views of the rocky coastline and mountain range. I'm not sure it can be compared to the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta range with a 6000m change, but the 375m peak was nice.

We then drive the ocean side which had some more ruins, lookouts and caves. One group of caves contained bats which was more interesting than it sounds (as you can walk in there) and the other had indigenous paintings. I think the best part of the trip was the landscape which we drove.

We finished here and headed for an overdue swim. We decided to try Playa Lagun again, for lunch and to snorkel. This beach was really popular for snorkelling and we decided to try it before we paid to enter Abu beach.
We ended up staying here all afternoon, up until we had to fly out.

The snorkelling was great with many types of coral and fish, and some other weird things. Eels, sea spiders, tropical fish, little weird flat thing which looked like a cartoon virus from the Simpsons, all sorts of things. The visibility in these waters were amazing.

The only downer, and we are not 100% sure, but there was a weird guy circling the car park. We kept our eyes open and moved the car into a better spot but there wasn't much else to do.

We nipped back to great Knip beach to see if the shower worked. the last thing we wanted was to spend the whole flight sticky from the ocean. We showered on the exposed beach shower, got changed 400m drive down the road and headed home. Sarah's driving really had everyone on their horn today and we are not sure why, but it really was crazy at points. She started doubting her driving abilities, but we were safe and happy.

Not much more to say, everything went well and we boarded our train to Germany, a much nicer plane than we expected.
