25 up early for breakfast and a truck safari (was sold as a jeep safari and we simply drove a truck along the road). We spotted a deer in the first minutes, a male with antlers and all. We also spotted many different birds, caimans, monkeys but no jaguars. This 'jeep safari' followed by 13 people walking into the jungle. Its not really what we had in mind when told that there would be a jungle trek. It was still interesting even though we would have scared everything possible. At one point we came across fresh kill, hours old by a jaguar. When asked, or guide said we might have scared it off and it had to leave the other half of the kill. We caught the same truck back for lunch with few stops. Lunch and a rest before tubing (a pool noodle, not an inner tube) and piranha fishing.
Jumping into caiman and piranha infested waters for a float down the river was interesting and a sign of trust. Not sure why I jumped in first, I guess it's not the first time I've swam in this type of water. Just as we are about to jump in the guide points out the large caiman on the shore.... Looking hungry. It's a great experience, rebeka, jasper, miles Sarah and I. First topics include shark fatalities, movings involving deaths on water (including what lies beneath)... You get the drift. We all survive with digits and limbs. After a short break we are prep'd, back in the boat and heading piranha fishing. Is this located on a different river, another lake? No, halfway along our float. I Caught 4 fish, 3 piranhas and 1 catfish, Sarah got 2, one of each (we were the only to get catfish). This time it's catch and release, fine by me as I don't really want piranha, I want carne. The one thing that was also out hunting that night were the mosquitoes. Wow, The mosquitoes were crazy!!! Dinner and bed, a quiet night after a long day.

26 horse riding in a group of 17, spotting animals on the way there and back from the truck. Met the Australian couple from Sydney, packed up and a bus to bonito. Said goodbye to Myles and the Italian couple Giulia and Luca. Left to bonito with jasper and Rebecca. Played tupa 'raises' the card game with them and went to the hostel. Pasta dinner and vodkas with them and Carran who is from FNQ, followed by bed.
