G'day from Melbourne!!
Had a good flight over from Nadi to Melbourne and checked into a hostel in the middle of the city. Have had a great few days here, an amazing city with so much to see and do. The FINA (Swimming) World Champs are on here as the moment as well as the Melbourne Food and Wine festival so the city is very busy.
Now here's something to make some of you jealous, very jealous in fact! On arriving in our hostel, there was a poster up asking for people to star in Harold Bishops Music Video so we thought, lets give it a crack and decided to go along and have a look and boy was it worth it!! We got to meet Harold, have pics taken with him (his real name in Ian Smith by the way) but there is something I would like to clarity here!! I DID NOT make that sign I am holding, the producers did and gave it to me to hold for the pic, I am not a crazy Harold Bishop fan and do not with to have a family with him!! We had a great day and had to act as the audience for his video. The song is terrible, really bad and is meant to be realised in the UK in the next few months so keep your eye out for it. Liz and I had to dance and scream like idiots at the front of the stage when Harrold came on stage and were in the very front so are assuming we'l be in it, watch this space!!!
So having met Harold, we obviously had to go along to the Neighbours night which was a night out in a local pub where you got to meet the cast etc. Karl Kennedy and his band were playing all night and we're too bad! Funny seeing him the in flesh, the pics will be up shortly so you can have a look. We visited Ramsay St. which was fun! No filming going on though so we're not gonna be extra's, maybe next time!!
Being all Neighboured out, Gaz (an Irish man I met from near Belfast) and I decided to go on the Great Ocean Road trip and it was amazing! The pictures do it very little justice and we just had such a great day. Visited a rain forset and did a walk there, no spiders so far so all's good. Had lunch in a wildlife park and saw laods of wild koala bears just sitting in the trees, so cute, Im really in Australia now!! Lots of parrots flying around as well.
Have spent some time around the city and its lovely. The Yarra River runs through the centre and is a lovely walk. Federation Square has a lot going on with good live bands playing.
I ended up back in hospital with my leg (from a fall in Fiji, someone pushed me into the pool, yes fully clothed!!) which means 3 countires, 2 hospital visits, Im doing well!
Off to Sydney on Saturday, looking forward to getting up there.
Hope all is well and I'll be in touch shortly.
Love to you all, Sara xxxxxxxxxxxx
