Hello from Airlie Beach - in the Heart of the Whitsunday's!
Â
We have just got off a beautiful 50ft Catamaran having spent the past 3 days sailing and diving around the Whitsunday Islands. It has been amazing fun! We had a bit of rain on the first day but other than that, its been lovely. Something pretty spectacular about sailing around the islands, wind in the sails and of course, a great skipper at the wheel!! Me that is, check out the pics!! We all had the option to dive on the Barrier Reef so I did 4 dives over the 3 days, one being a night-dive!! Oh scary stuff but great fun! Saw a few sharks (big ones as well!), swam with George the famous local 1.8m long fish, he was gorgeous, along with a few turtles and rays. Cate and Gaz had their first scuba diving experience and did 3 dives each, both really enjoying themselves. And that was it really. We ate like Kings and Queens and even managed to land ourselves with the best sleeping accommodation on the boat, a Queen sized bed for Cate and I and a single for Gaz, others were sleeping on what is the dinner table in the day! We relaxed and sunbathed during the day and are missing our life at sea now being back on the mainland.
Â
We were so excited to finally hear that the Opsreys won the Magners title this season, well done Brently and the boys!! Just wish I had been there to watch the game. It did mean ringing mum and dad at 3am in the morning to get the score (sorry guys!!) but I hadn't had signal for 2 days and was itching to find out what had happened!!
Â
So its North again now to Mission Beach, Innisfail, Cairns and Cape Tribulation before flying back to Sydney to watch Wales beat Australia????!
Â
Trust that everyone is well and that the spring is slowly working its way into summer and is bringing some warmth with it.

Love of love, Sara xxxxxxx (& Gaz!!)
