BULA FROM FIJI!! Am having the most amazing time in Fiji! It truly is paradise here and I am so fortunate to be here (thank you mum and dad!!). Arrived in Fiji into the pouring rain as you can see from the photo’s but figured things could only get better, and they did!! We spent one night in Nadi (and that was one too many!) and then started our Island Hopping the next morning. Boarded a 60ft Catamaran and cruised passed The Mamanacus Islands right to the top end of the Yasawa Islands for our first stop which was Nanuya Lailai, we were staying at the Sunrise resort. Beautiful beaches, hammocks, cold beers, hot sunshine and clear waters, just what we had dreamt about. Had a Bula welcome from the hosts of the resort and enjoyed 2 lazy days here. Went snorkeling, saw turtles, rays, starfish and loads of beautiful colored fish, not even the photo’s do them much justice. Swam at the Blue Lagoon (where the movie and filmed), got invited to a Fijian birthday party which turned into an interesting evening drinking Fijian Bounty Rum and Kava, a Fijian drink which is non-alcoholic and is made from a root of a tree. It is disgusting!! Tastes likes dirty muddy water but its offensive and rude to turn it down when offered so we ended up having to drink loads!! Ended up sleeping in a hammock and woke up covered in mozzie bites, not nice! Spent the morning on another island visiting a local village. We went to church with the villagers and enjoyed their worship and service. The children sang to us and it was fantastic. We were then were invited back individually to have dinner with their family. Dinner consisted of eating fish (yes the whole thing; head, body and tail!) with our fingers whilst sitting on the floor with the family. Amazing to experience a different culture like that, really enjoyed it. Went swimming in the Sawailau Caves (underwater cavers) which was fun but scary as there were massive, and I mean massive, spiders there, didn’t like that at all! From there it was on to Naviti where we stayed at the Korovou Eco Resort, this turned out to be my favorite resort. It even had a swimming pool, what a treat!! Enjoyed another 2 days relaxing, swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling and Fijian dancing every night!! The pictures are a must see!! Went Scuba diving, amazing to dive over here, so beautiful. Met some great German guys and ended up swimming in to the pool fully clothed (yes, I got chucked in!!) until 3.30am!! Our second night there was the best. We ended up enjoying even more Bounty Rum and had a slight shock the next morning to see our bar tab sitting at $280…… won’t say anymore on that matter!! The resort staff were great and good looking which made the stay even more enjoyable!! Ladies see pictures, esp. Moses! Hello!! Got chucked in the pool again but this time really hurt my leg on the way in and have been hobbling ever since! Not good!! Finally onto our last resort, South Sea Island, it takes just under 6 mins to walk around the whole island and although very quite here, it was beautiful to snorkel around. Massive Sea Cucumbers here and again, amazing fish. So Im here in Nadi at the moment again in the rain but at least its our last day. We fly over to Melbourne later today so I will be in touch again from here. Love to you all, Sara xxx Ps – Wales beating England TRULY MADE MY HOLIDAY HERE PERFECT!!!!!
