Sara Clamp's Travels
Today was perfect! We woke up at 4am and travelled to the summit of Haleakala National Park which is a dormant volcano here in Hawaii. At 6.11am we, along with another few hundred people, watched as the sun rose. It really was a beautiful site to see. We then had to take the car down to 8000ft before hitching a ride back to the summit @ 10000ft. We then started our descent into the volcano and embarked on a 11.2 mile walk witnessing changing vegetation and views. The last 3 miles were the hardest where we ascended up the mountain before arriving back at the car 6 hours and 25 minutes later. A day I will never forget!!
