We have spent the last few days travelling a lot!!

On the 9th we had a 10 hour drive from Srinigar to Jammu (the nearest train station!). The journey itself was okay, we went through the mountains and there were some really pretty views and lots of monkeys but after a while, as i'm sure you will understand, it all got a bit tiresome and you just wanted to get there! We had a few hours in Jammu to wait until out train but we just stayed at the station because it was night. We then got the train to Amritsar and arrived at around 2am.

On the 10th (after a long sleep!) we went to the Golden temple which was truely beautifal, I've got some amazing pictures. Amritsar itself was nice too and we spent the day shopping and just chilling out. We didn't get hassled as much as in Delhi which was a relief. We also went to the Tower of Baba Atal and took some good pictures from the top and we went to Jallianwala Bagh gardens.

On the 11th we went to the Summer palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The palace itself was a bit dissapointing and it was being restored so we couldn't go in, but the gardens were really pretty and we spent the day walking around them and sunbathing. In the evening we went back to the golden temple area and had a Dominos pizza (awful, i know, but we couldn't resist!!) The last 2 days were the festival Holi, where everybody throws paint at each other! We weren't involved in any of the fights but there were hundreds of people covered in paint. We had to wait around until 11.55pm for out train to Delhi.

Today (12th) we arrived in Delhi at around 8am and got straight into a car and drove for about 7 hours to Mandawa. The hotel that we are staying in is very nice, and has some beautifal paintings. The people in the town seem very friendly but once you have said hello it is hard to shake them off!

I know you are all still dying to see photos and it is really annoying me that i can't put them up. Jess is going to use this computer after me, but i will try to get onto the computer at the hotel later on tonight. It is honestly such a struggle to find internet access over here (we searched high and low in Amritsar but everywhere was closed because of Holi).
