So we have been in Borneo for over a week now and it is beautiful!
Rewind a little bit.. So in Bali we met up with my friend from Aus for drinks, not seen her in over a year <3
We "learnt" to surf. Not going to lie, surfing is way harder than I thought! Literally all the muscles in my body ached. Despite having a not so good teacher and an aching body we both "learnt" to surf some waves and managed to stand up (and fall off).
Bumped into Rhys and Stacey again haha Legends!
We also went for a drinks and food buffet and ate lots of mash.
Ubud was class, rice fields, locals and an amazing moterbike ride through the villages. No exggeration - we stayed in a temple.
From Bali we travelled to Lombok and then took a 30 hour journey - yes 30 hours - to Flores. This consisted of a minibus, a coach, a ferry, a bus and then another ferry. The journey was suppose to be 24 hours but obviously it was not. Even the chickens ride the ferry in Indonesia.
After the 30 hour journey we needed to head back to Lombak as our visa was expiring in a few days.
After exploring some crazy dark cave, we decided a 4 day boat ( yes I mean boat not ship) ride was the best option. 100% was THE best option. I reckon this is one of the best things we've done on our trip (maybe Bromo? or Surfing? or everything??). We snorkeled with fish, sting rays (this resulted in me being taken away by the current and saved by a speed boat - Taylor left me for dead :/ ) and also Manta Rays. We saw Komodo dragons, incredible views and Taylor even swam with glow in the dark plankton. We made some lovely friends, played chess and Uno and lazed about. Amazing few days!
Our plan was to leave Indonesia to go to Kuala Lumpur for a few days and then return to start our 30 day visa again.
Instead we ended up in Borneo :D :D
