Hi everyone!
It's been a while since I have written again!
1)Whit Sundays
We went on our sailing trip which was fantastic, two nights and two days out at sea, eating, drinking and snorkelling. The first day we sailed it was quite overcast, pity it was so cold. We snorkelled both days, saw some huge fish, amazing sights down there, it's so peaceful! Our crew cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner for us, which we all fantastic! Then at night we would pull up to a bay and have few drinks on deck, and watch the stars. Every ten minutes there were shooting stars. So incredible. Sleeping was great, rocked to sleep! The next day was much warmer, so we appreciated the racing and sailing a lot more. We visited Whitehaven beach, the sofest sand I have ever stood on (felt like walking trhough flour), was starnge to be back on land, we all had sea legs! :-) We got back onto the boat and had dinner! One of our crew members Luke, was telling us a ghost story about aboriginals in some of the bays. He was saying that there was an aboriginal man who wore lots of shells and rattled them, that came to boats while people were sleeping, and asks them if they want to go fishing! I really believed him, as well as other people, so I was little bit scared that night! :-)
2) Magnetic Island
This is one fo the most beautiful places I have ever seen. We had a little cabin, and ended up staying there 8 days, Nik and Whit left us! :-( This was a place to completly relax, so that's exactly what we did, we sat by the pool during the day, had dinner and few drinks and went to bed! We rented a topless Barbie car one day, back and forth from one end of the island to the other end takes about half hour. We drove around all day and explored and picked friends up on the way! The half moon party was taking place here, and there was a TV crew filming a travel documentry. One of the camera men asked Jayne and I to walk down a board walk and act like camera wasn't there! First time for everything. I got up one morning and I picked my cereal up in the kitchen, poured it into a bowl and a little lizard fell out instead of cereal, I have never jumped so high as I did that morning!
We caught up with a few people there, who had been travelling a few days behind us, it was good to catch up! After Magnetic Island we went to Mission beach. There's not much to do here, just sky diving, which I'll give a miss. I did try some kangaroo, it tastes good, better than beef, a bit like veal. We visited a swimming hole on the way, which was so refreshing!
The next day we took off for Cairns, and stopped in quite a few places on way, a croc farm, a lake, and a tiny village that sold stuff made from croc skins! I also tasted some crocodile, tasted fishy and was quite tough! First we went to the croc farm, where we saw the crocodiles being fed, saw some snakes, some people got bitten by the snakes to see what felt like! Nutters! I got to hold a baby croc, he had his mouth taped up. Later we stopped at lake, where we had cool refreshing swim, and some lunch, and another swim! Then we arrived in Cairns, and here we are.
Tomorrow we start fruit picking as funds are getting low! I'm excited to work again! Then we rent a car to Sydney and drive down there for christmas! miss you all, happy christmas xx
