Well, everyone raves about it and now finally we can rave about it too. Litchfield National Park has to be one of the most beautiful places in this amazing country!
We have spent the last few days admiring and swimming in gorgeous waterfalls and rock pools, tough life we Sandows lead!
A highlight of our time here was a visit to Lost City, which was accessed by a 4wd-only track. Lovely drive through the bush but it took us nearly 30 minutes to drive 10.5 km's! Slow going but well worth it in the end. The Lost City is mostly formed from sandstone and parts of it really do look like ancient ruins. It was stunning out there but damn hot! Good excuse to hit Wangi Falls for a swim. Great fun was had swimming out to the falls. Adz decided to push the envelope a little and climb 4 metres up onto a ledge and jump into the deep pool there, I'm sure he did it just to make his mother stressed! The kids have been loving any water they can jump into from a decent height, mad things!
Buley Rockhole was great as well. It is a series of cascades, with some deep pools and some shallow. A very pretty spot to visit and excellent for cooling off. We could have spent all day there.
We had a bushfire near our caravan park one night. We could see it as we were getting home and had to go for a look when we could hear the crackling from it getting louder and closer. Took some good photos of it, but we were never in any danger as our park was nice and green and the sprinklers were on all the time. Bit of excitement for the night though.
Anyway, our time at beautiful Litchfield has come to an end. Next stop Darwin!
