Everywhere in the old city you go, there are plenty of places to stay; and each one has a sign inviting you to watch Octop****
Udaipur was where most of this James Bond was filmed (Ing was very happy to point out that all the train scenes were done in her home town of Peterborough, so let's not get too excited!). If you ever find yourself here, walk the streets of the town, seeing the all the palaces here and just keep your eyes open and try and remember little telling characteristics of the streets.
When it comes to watching James do his stuff, you will recognize a great deal of the scenes and backdrops. Rather than just being "another film" you watch, Octop**** becomes more "real" because you can relate to it more. Comparing this James Bond with one much later, they seem incredibly cheesy, but hugely entertaining nevertheless!
One of the drivers we had was very proud to point out that he was actually in a scene from the film; when he was not helping the film crew go from one point to another in his taxi or rickshaw or when he was not assisting tying turbans (as he is a Sikh, he knows how to tie a turban or two!) So it becomes even more real. The next time we watch it, we will look out for a much younger Mr Singh in that scene he told us about. We will have to keep a close eye for the turbans he tied too!
