We woke feeling amazingly well considering the late night and got ourselves ready to go out and do it all over again. The four of us set off to meet another ex old Doha mate, Graeme, for lunch. Amanda hadn't seen him in around 35 years and that is quite some time really, when you think about it.

We took a taxi to The Palm, Jumeirah which was a short distance away from where we were staying. The Palm is a man made island with luxury hotels, resort facilities, water theme parks, etc, etc, you name it and you can probably find it there. It is a place where the beautiful (and often rich) people can meet and enjoy their leisure time, but it is ok for the likes of us too! Our lunch was to be at the Nasimi Beach restaurant at the Atlantis hotel. We met in the bar at 12.30 and didn't leave until about 6.30pm when the sun was beginning to go down. The intervening time was taken up with chatting about old times and new, eating and (of course!) drinking a fair amount of wine. Not sure where the day went really but it was lovely to get together and spend some time with old friends. Who knows when we may ever get together again but it's certainly on our list of things we would like to do!
