Our Travels
Our last night in Iceland could scarcely be called that as we were in bed by 1am but had to be up again by 4am. Ouch! Last minute packing and we were in the lobby 10 minutes early for our 5am pickup enjoying the coffee, juice and croissants thoughtfully provided by the hotel for their early departers.
Luckily, for once, it wasn't raining or snowing as we left the hotel and we were taken by minibus to the bus station where we boarded the Flybus for our journey to the airport. We managed to pass through two snowstorms on the way, even though it was only a 50 minute journey but luckily it was only fairly light stuff coming down when we reached Keflavik so we didn't get soaked.
The formalities over we settled down in the lounge for a pre-flight drink and snack. A farewell shot of the brandywine, and a nice glass of petit Chablis to set us up for the day!
On board the plane we watched the snow swirling past in the strong winds as we waited for our plane to be de-iced before we could take off. Goodbye, Iceland, it's been great!
Not quite all from me after all. Once up in the air we decided to try out the in-flight Wi-Fi and it is really cool!! It works very well and is definitely the way of the future. Great to be able to send and receive emails and keep up with my blog while flying high. Thank you, Icelandair!
