We had a successful ride down to Uluwatu and arrived at our hotel. We spent the rest of the day chilling and messing around in the lovely swimming pool. Thanks to my mum giving us some money our room was lovely and much more high end than what we are used to! Thanks mum :)
At night we planned to go to a place called Single Fins for food and drinks while the sun set.
We arrived and it was packed so we grabbed a quick drink then found somewhere else to eat.
The next day we decided to check out Dreamland beach. On the way we got a puncture, our first in 4 months so can't complain to much. The beach was really cool and different to others we had already seen so that was cool but then bad luck struck again when I rented a board. On my way back into shore I hit one of the rocks and ripped two of the fins off, safe to say we won't be going back there...oops!
We spent the rest of the day chilling at our fav beach, Padang Padang. I rented another board and there where no more accidents thank god!
That evening we ate at a lovely little restaurant and had our own little booth named 'The wedding bed'. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was very chilled with some hippy Hindu band jamming away.
The following day Jazz had spotted an offer at one of the really luxurious hotels on the cliffs so we checked it out. They offer the use of their infinity pool overlooking the Uluwatu surf breaks and a meal of your choice for an affordable price...our day was set. We stayed all day and enjoyed a cold bintang while the sunset, hard life.
Yesterday was our last day in Uluwatu. First we went to Impossibles beach. Now we know why it's called that. As with most of the beaches here we had to climb down a various amount of uneven steps which the girls really enjoyed with their little legs, I don't know what all the fuss was about.
There was no breeze at all and the sun was blaring so we moved on to our fav beach, Padang Padang. The tide was really though and I didn't fancy an injury from the reef so I didn't get to surf :(
Unfortunately we had to leave our little bit of luxury after 4 awesome days and we are now back at a hostel in Kuta, back to our backpacker roots but it was very nice to be spoilt for a bit :)
Our room still has a TV though so we can still keep up with the Discovery Channel, I've even got the girls into it.
Tomorrow we are off for a day in Semiyak which is a kinda funky/modern area just north of Kuta, there's even talk of doing some shopping. With our money set aside for NZ and this being our last place we're able to splash out a bit more which is really nice, especially as they have so many nice clothes... here not just the usual cheap market crap that we being buying for the past 4 months!
Stay tuned for more updates!
