It is hard to believe that today is our last full day in the Serengeti. Tomorrow we go on a morning safari and then catch a plane to Nairobi, where we stay the night. Sunday, we fly to Abu Dhabi and then to Sydeny. We stay the night at Sydeny, and then get home Tuesday morning.
Yesterday afternoon we were lucky enough to see a large herd of elephants, and a very big one uproot a tree. They were reasonably amusing to watch. We also saw giraffes, and then a male leopard sleeping in a tree. He had been in fight, judging by the severe wound to the eye he sported. When he came down at dusk, he quickly dissapeared in to the scrub and long grass.
This morning we saw both another male leopard and the same cheetah and cubs we saw earlier. The leopard was quite tricky to see as he was lying in the grass, and because of his spots, he camouflaged quite well. The cheetah and cubs were right on the border of the National Park and the concession, but they soon moved to our side. We didn't see them sprint today, but it was very nice just sitting there watching them.

Dad It seems your thoughts are starting to turn to home Georgia. What an adventure to remember!
Kate Another wonderful day on safari. What happens to the animals that get wounded? Do any rangers go and bring them in for treatment? Or is in au natural? The elephants must have been great to watch. Mumxxxx
Granny An unforgettable experience Georgia. You will dream about those animals for a long time.
B Lovely photos again -loved the regal Cheetah on the termite mound - do you think cheetahs can exude something that puts the termites to sleep? Sam may have ideas! The time has gone so fast, it sounds as though it's been a magical time seeing animals in their natural habitat - more dangerous, but they're free! Have a good flight home, though sitting in a plane for so many hours is not the most exciting way to spend one's time. Are you planning a return trip? Lots of luv to you both
B Welcome home tomorrow . Hope you're having a celebratory meal to mark the end of the safari - doubt that Oz will be as novel or exciting as your last 5-6 days - though I guess there's always the risk of an escapee crocodile. Perhaps not in Sydney though Look forward to hearing lots more + photos. Enjoy the rest of your holidays Luv
