Hong Kong

We eventually arrived in Hong Kong after a killer 28 hour train journey (to somewhere just outside HK), followed by a further 2 hour train journey to HK itself.  Got to HK train station only to realise our Youth Hostel was miles away and last check in was 11:30pm - about the time we go to the station.  Finally managed to get an expensive cab to the YH and arrived late at night and very ready for bed.  Sadly for Al the nigt had only just begun. It seems he had eaten some rather dodgy beef in the train station so ended end being up all night puking his guts out.  He is still yet to fully recover (2 days later) and has stuck to a very western cuisine ever since (mainly Big Macs).

The day after our arrival we spent a well deserved day on the beach on HK island and didn't really move until the eveing. Needless to say I got burnt in true Sammy stylee - but at least Ive got the base tan back for thailand!  Hit the soho area og Hong Kong later that night for a meal and some drinks.  Then attempted to haggle (not very well) in the famous night market.

Spent our last day in HK doing a bit more shopping, followed by going up the peak.  Well worth seeing.  Fly off tomorrow to Thailand.  Very excited........
