Melbourne
We landed in Melbourne expecting a warm xmas - a bbq on the beach perhaps....definitely a bit of sunshine. Instead we were greeted by their coldest xmas in 70 years. With my warmest item of clothing being a skirt, the xmas sales were a definite must!
Despite the weather, Rach, Al, Nick and I have still had muchos fun so far. We are sharing a 'family room' in our hostel which is a bit cosy to say the very least. So far the drunken nights have mean there hasn't been an awful lot of daytime activity - though obviously I am very familiar with the shopping malls!
Al and I manged to find ourselves in a rock gig one night - we are both not entirely sure how we got in there. Obviously we thought it was hilarious to continually ask for requests such as britney, kylie and S club (my personal favourite). The band didn't find it quite as funny. We did manage a small victory, getting the dj to play Tom Jones after the band had finished. We cleared the dancefloor. All the more room for us!
Xmas day was great, but very strange to be away from friends and loved ones. Our hostel put on an 'orphans' lunch for us orphans, which went down quite well. We spent the rest of the day drinking until we finally left the hostel about 9ish and lasted not more than a couple of hours before we all fell asleep. Rock and Roll I know.
Cricket and the neighbours tour to look forward to. Will update this soon xx
