To get to Chiang Mai we caught a 14hr overnight train which had seats that turned into beds very impressed, although there were a few cockroaches climbing up the walls! Chaing Mai is much more relaxed, we definately preferred it here to Bangkok. There was a good night market, and an amazing temple called Doi Suthep. We arrived in Bangkok on thursday, 6th November. We where staying at the Grand Vi lle Hotel in the China Town area of the city. Bangkok is very busy and China Town is one of the poorer areas (and quite scary)! On Saturday, 8th November, we met our intrepid group. At our relief everyone was lovely.
