It was quite a slow start to the day as Rory were both enjoying a bit of luxury in a nice quiet and comfortable environment! We relaxed for a while and then decided to go to a beach for the afternoon. We hopped in the car and headed down to Huntingdon beach. We relaxed there for a while catching some rays, listening to music and going for the occasional dip in the sea! On the way home we got stuck in some horrendous traffic and it took us an age to get home! It really is astonishing the number of cars on the road in America 5 or 6 lanes completely jammed for miles! In the evening we had a healthy meal for what seemed like the first time in years with David and then relaxed in front of some good old American TV.

As we were driving home from huntingdon beach we noticed that Venice beach was actually a whole lot closer to us so decided that would be our next excursion. After driving round in circles looking for parking we finally got one and walked to the promenade. We didn't get very far before we were approached by a load of rappers trying to sell us their CD saying they had been on English TV and were going to be huge. Rory bought a CD mostly because they were already huge... physically! We wandered around the promenade for a while soaking up the atmostphere and looking at all the characters that there are to be seen ( ranging from enormous muscle men to crazy hippies)! I bought a beach american football and we chucked it around on the beach for a while. Rory came periously close to injuring 2 girls when he thought he could throw it over them to me from a long way back! It was mere inches from catastrophe! We then sunbathed for a while before we actually ended up chatting to the girls Rory nearly hit. The reason was that they wanted to know if we were english or australian, a distinction which American people seem to find hard for some reason despite the fact they are totally different accents! So we chatted for a while and grabbed some lunch with them before heading home. In the evening we were going to try out David's mysterious new steak technique and were all set, but then the gas ran out! So we went out to a nice italian restaurant for a meal and rented some films. When we got back we watched Shooter, which is a great guys film, lots of action!
