Punta del Diablo. A beautiful fishing town where not much happens...
Admittedly, we arrived a week after the busy season. So bars and restaurants weren't staying open so late. And shops were closed.
We spent four nights in this beach town and we easily joined in with everyone else at the hostel and the routine they had created... It went like this...
Sleep 3am - 9am
Swim 9am - 9.30am
Breakfast 9.30 - 11am
Laze around the hostel 11 - 2pm
Lunch 2pm
Beach 2.30 - 6pm
Happy hour 6 - 8pm
More drinks 8 - 2 am
Dinner 10 pm
And repeat...
If the crew at the hostel weren't so awesome, it might not have been such a good time. But everyone got along really well and we had lots of laughs.
Our last night was probably the big one. Stupid before a day of bus travel... I thought it would be a great idea to get everyone to play kings cup before dinner. Everyone got s*** faced. Then someone made sangria. And it was awful. I laughed so hard I got asthma. Justine dropped her phone in between the slats in the deck and the hostel owner had to get the drill out so we could get to it.
I have also had my second Zika scare. This time with a fever and a bad cough. I'll keep you all posted on how it eventuates!
We go to Buenos Aires today, for less than 12 hours. Then iguazu falls tomorrow. We are meeting our friends from Montevideo in Buenos Aires for a steak tonight. And probably copious amounts of wine. We probably didn't even need to book a hostel. We have to be at the airport at 3.30am... Going to be a long 24 hours!
