FINALLY--- THE ADVENTURE BEGINS!

I have spent months of saving, researching what to pack, where to go, what to see and I finally get to start! I have a small camera bag and 1 carry on bag that doubles as backpack or roll-aboard. I have spent hours deciding what I NEED and what I can do without to try to make my load as light as possible. I'll go into more detail about what I packed later. I know there will be items I'll want to shed along the way and also things to add from my traveling about.

I waited for 2 days in Florida with no great military flight prospects from MacDill AFB, so I bought a commercial one way ticket to Baltimore, MD. The cab company picked me up at 3am from our temporary home on Harbour Island and dashed me to the Tampa Airport. Only 6 hours later, with stops in Charlotte, North Carolina and finally in Baltimore, Maryland, I am now signed up for a flight that leaves tonight for Ramstein AFB Germany! Removing liquids, laptops, shoes, jackets, getting X-rays and pat-downs are the signs of the beginning of this exciting trip!
