I woke up really early yesterday to get on the 5:07am train to Tsukiji, the world famous Fish Market with the Moriyama family. It was so dark and cold outside, but when we finally arrived, the market was bursting with action. So many people work at this fish market and you can feel their excitement with the smiles on their faces when they are cutting up a big catch. Restaurant owners come here to by their seafood in bulk, but the prices on these items are really high!

The main item, or so it seemed, were frozen tuna from Algeria. They were auctioning off these gigantic fish (about a little less than half the size of me). The man in the picture was excited to take this picture with me and after hearing that I was from Chicago said, "Oh! Michael Jordan!" Ha ha, if he only knew.

After this extremely graphic tour, I think I'm about ready to call it quits on trying my hand at eating seafood. For those of you that don't know, I never eat seafood. I was probably about 4 years old the last time I willingly ate any sort of seafood. Since then, I have never touched it (unless by accident). But while in Japan I told everyone I would give it a chance but the shrimp, mussels, octopus, and crab that I have eaten so far have not been too pleasing.
