.....Making a teensy weensy U-turn

I'm in Sydney now which is rather cool, always good to get to a city and see how the real people live from time to time. Can even pretend to be a real person myself for a few days, shopping trips, coffee and cake, drinks by the harbour - great stuff. And I've decided to indulge in a week of this pleasure so I can really get a feel for the city, but also because I'm using it like a kind of pit-stop to recharge the old batteries and plan and prepare for the next stages of the trip....

And while I'm on with a bit of housekeeping and personal maintence I thought I'd drop in this quick blog entry just to keep everyone in the loop on the rest of my round-the-world movements.....

I think most of you already know the deal, but there may be some who are wondering why I'm racing so fast through Oz. Well basically I've decided I'm not going to bother with the whole work thing and just keep travelling on. Had thought I would work here for a couple of months to boost the funds. But I don't actually think I'd end up making much of a profit on whatever I ended up doing, and to be honest, I'm not fussed about being away from home for so long now - December feels a long time away!

So it's onwards and downwards, just Melbourne to go here and then next stop New Zealand - about three months ahead schedule! Which means that unless I stumble across a money tree somewhere between here and home I'll be getting back to Blighty about three months ahead of schedule too, will see how far I can make the pennies strectch, but will likely be seeing all you lovely folks at the back end of September - now has learning this made your day or what?!
