3 days in vegas. Wow how awesome!
We arrived on Friday afternoon just after lunch. We took a moment and had happy hour drinks with our neighbour from St Louis on our Las Vagas Astro Turf and complimentary rocking chairs - check them out! - Dad get onto it :)
We did have plans on seeing a show but there was too many to choose from and we were mesmerised by the whole strip so we just decided we would check out the casinos instead. First stop Circus Circus. It's a fairly old casino but HEY $2 beers (for march madness) was a good reason to stay. AdventureDome where we rode the rollercoasters! Yep indoor rollercoasters it was a lot of fun. Then we hopped over to the Riviera where we were pestered by timeshare sellers. They are all over the strip so we always try and hide.
We bought a 24hr ticket on the Deuce Bus and stopped at the Mirage for a walk through before we went to Caesars Palace to check out the huge statues and fountains. We got a great spot for the Belaggio water Fountain show just before it was over for the night.
When we checked the time it was super late and we had walked so much we were very tired so got a pizza and headed back to the rv.
Day 2 of vegas...
Vegas is so cool! Today we bought tickets on the Big Bus - a guided hop on hop off tour. We saw where Elvis did his first show in vegas before he was a star and also his last, the Pawn Stars shop at Down town vegas, the drive thru wedding chapels, the downtown light show and soooo many street performances it was awesome! Dancers and moving statues. So cool.
Day 3 for shopping
We went to the Fashion Show Mall which is probably the biggest mall we've been to. It's one of the largest enclosed malls in the world. So we spent plenty of time looking about and saw the live runway fashion show. Can't say we will do that again soon.
Sunday Sesh
We caught the Deuce Bus to the Venetian- the one casino I really wanted to see for the Grand Canal Shops. - not really the shops but the Grand Canal with the Gondolas. To see a remake of Venice was so cool. No need to travel the world just go to vegas - we have seen the Eifle Tower, King Tut & the Statue of Liberty.
Dinner at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville and snuck some napkins for keepsake - We met a couple from Minnesota Dave & Rhonda also here escaping the freezing temps back home (like our St Louis neighbours) We had some drinks with them on the balcony and watched the thousands of people walk by.
Heading off tomorrow for the Grand Canyon.
