Today our travels took us to the City of Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven. Vienna was the center of classical music for hundreds of years. We began our adventure with a guided tour of the city, where we learned about the city's history and architechure. Our guide showed us the major points of interest, such as the Habsburg Palace and Saint Stephen's Cathedral, while walking through medieval streets that looked to be suspended in time. Just before we set off to explore the city in groups we were greeted by our friend and guest conductor from Azerbaijan, Mustafa Mehmandarov! Our magical day in Vienna concluded with a traditional Viennese dinner and a visit from our other "Building Bridges" guest musician, Marziya Guseynova!
