We've all seen pictures of Hong Kong's skyline. But the picture can only ever show a portion. There are sooooooo many sky scrapers. The never build one of a building plan. They build at least 3 - to make a set. The size of the docks and the number of ships waiting in the habour is also belong belief.
As with most of the places we visited, nearly everyone was multilingual. The people are so helpful and polite - except the hawkers who are particularly insistant.
Our day began with a rush to breakfast. Glenn McGrath and his girlfriend seemed to have been in the same state. We can forever say we had breakfast with Glenn McGrath...... We actually he was in the same breakfast room. In the time we had beeen to breakfast, the housekeepers had cleaned up our room. I think they fix the rooms about 3 times a day. They also get a little twitchy if you stay in your room. They actually rang us to see when they could fix our room as after that first shock of them coming in and seeing all of our mess we left the "Do not disturb" sign on the next day.
We travelled up the Peak tram to the peak of the mountain. Would you believe Stan's friend was there at the same time. Next we headed to Stanley where Stan began his all things Stanley collection. To his disappointment, except for photos, all he could find was 1 fridge magnet. The Stanley markets where like any other markets.
Later that evening we visited the Temple Street or night markets. They were very different. Lots of haggling. Lots of genuine imitation goods for sale.
We ate some of the best food on holiday whilst in Hong Kong. A little too jet lagged to do much but enjoyed our time.
