Today was definitely the start of the Festival of the Belly. We began by a trip to the Lighthouse of Cape Naturaliste. After the debate about the boys unable to climb until they had eaten and which ticket to buy, we finally made the tour. The lighthouse is not very tall, but the hill it is on is. Luckily this meant not too much climbing to reach the top, The day that began cold and grey but opened up to a beautifully blue by the time we reached the top. I love seeing the ocean on the western side of the land. We could see some whales in the distance so Steph decided to trudge us all the way to the whale watching platform . Long walk – but some great scenery along the way, seals at the destination and a few whales in the distance.
Larisa recommended Wise Winery for lunch. YUM!! Great views and great wine. Next stop – Gabriel's chocolate for dessert. A few more wineries. All fun for the rest of us as Stan was Skipper. The Cheeky Monkey Brewery had it’s own version of tasting where we had a paddle of different beers.
Arrived at Prevelly in time to watch the sunset. Absolutely beautiful. Larisa won the photo comp but I managed to win the inability to avoid the waves comp. I then had to go to the Margaret River hotel for dinner looking worse for wear with wet trouser bottoms.
