Well Bangkok has surprised me...by how much I have enjoyed it. From the club last night to the attractive people. What a nice way to finish my trip! I've been impressed with the respect on show here (they even show a Propaganda video about the King before every film showing) and the sheer scale of Bangkok from the multi lane, car clogged roads to the huge shopping malls, decked in Neon. Doug and Sam showed me round some of the temples today, including seeing the famous sleeping buddha, then we went to see a 4D film (the seat moves and sounds and smells too - overrated) Hunger Games. While I'm waiting for my plane home, a feeling of 'reality bites' comes over me as going home means facing up to the things I have enjoyed escaping from for a while, problems with the flat, getting a new job, at the same time being away from England / London has made me appreciate it all the more. In one sense I wish I was travelling for longer, in another sense, all good things must come to an end and I feel I've accomplished all I set out to do on this trip and more. It leaves me with my eyes opened that little bit more, with a greater 'I can do this' confidence than I had before which is great. And I'm already planning more adventures, you know once you get this travelling bug...until next time folks :-)

Barry Brooks The thai hold their Royal family in high esteem unlike us Brits. The film and book "The King and I" is still banned in Thailand because it doesn't show the Thai king in the best light. Looks like the independent travel bug has got you? The ultimate test would be across india.....lol Its tough but the best experiance.
Lee Ryan - Well done, a great running commentary on your adventure away - I can't wait to hear about more in person
