We made it to our most northeastern point of our trip in New Brunswick, Canada. Again, the Canadian campsites do not disappoint. We had our first experience with the Atlantic Time Zone and to be honest, we didn't even realize their was another time zone in North America.
Our first day we did the whole Bay of Fundy experience. We started out by driving up to the Hopewell Rocks to see the famous Flower Pots at high tide. We planned to come back later in the day to see this at low tide (which we did). It was a great perspective on what the highest tidal changes in the world looks like. To think that the moon can have this kind of gravitational pull on earth is quite amazing. The tidal change on this day was 43 feet from high to low tide.
We had so much fun exploring this unique area and got in some more hiking. We hiked Matthews Head one day and then did a longer hike on day two. We hiked Laverty Falls and Moosehorn Trail on day two which included three waterfalls, swimming holes and a nice place to stop for lunch along the river. Mom had a nice slip on a river rock that luckily ended with a scrap, bruise, sore neck and maybe a bruised ego. Maybe a little (or a lot) of wet clothing as well. The boys loved swimming in the natural pools under the falls. We will not confirm nor deny that some money exchanged hands for swimming in the cold waterfalls.
We had our last lobster bake of the trip at camp on our last night. As you can see in the photos, the boys loved the hammock. One child loved escaping from his brother to read and the other just thought it was a toy. We'll let you figure out which kid was the houligan.
