From a place called Chang Kong we crossed the Laos border into Hay Xai, down the meng kok river to Pakbeng. After an overnight stay we arrived in a place called Luang Prabang. Poor place like everywhere else but a little worse. After getting off the boat we got into a "taxi" which is basically a motorbike with a sitting part on the back. There must have been 12-14 people in the back all crammed in, and a couple of people hanging off the back, and we needed a push off about four people to get it going because there was that many people on the back!! Then we arrived in our one pound a night room. We went to a sports bar. The area we where at, all of the bars close at 10.30 and the only place open apart from that is a bowling place which is open till 3am, so we went there with all of the lads we had met. Was f***ing crazy! We were drinking whisky and was not going down very well at all. One of the Irish lads picked one of the men who works there up and started spinning him in a circle!! Well funny.
