Rush and Luge - Extreme Adventures
Well from the quiet gorgeous life of Perth and the South West coast of Australia we were thrown right in the deep end with Sydney! Its an amazing city and buzzing with life 24 hours a day. We stayed in a hostel in Kings Cross, famous for its red light district, late night clubs and crazy residents. As its cheap and packed with backbackers hostels its also full of students and traveller types too!! Our hostel was in a pretty classy location with a tattoo shop underneath a strip club opposite and metal bars over the door but a great place all the same and everyone was bursting with the usual Aussie friendlyness! Sydney is a beautiful city and the harbour looks even more amazing than any of the postcards or pictures give it credit for. We checked out the Sydney Opera House and luckily Tim Mitchin the comedian was performing so we booked some tickets and went along to an hilarious show. We checked out Bondi Beach and Jonny tested out the surf, bit too cold for me though! Had a pretty cool walk around the Blue Mountains and the famous 'three sisters' rocks, got a bit hairy at the end though when we had about 3 mins to catch the last bus out of the mountains and about 1KM of uphill steps to manage before the bus stop!! Apart from these site seeing trips most of Sydney was spent in bed recovering from the very cool night life or eating cracking Thai food at Jonny's favourite place THAI POWER! Sydney definitely has some great clubs, food and people and our bank account will certainly remember this week for a while!
