After the salt flats it was a race down to Santiago in Chile to catch our flight to Oz. We treated ourselves to a hotel instead of a hostel in Santiago as we had been sleeping in stone huts for days. It cost about 15 pounds which is expensive as our usual hostels were about 2 pounds and it was the most luxurous room I have ever seen!! We got two balcony's, a coach and chair lounge style area, massive TV and gold trimings and a proper bed WITH pillows!
