Me at the memorial to J.B. Malone who pioneered and built the Wicklow Way which runs from Dublin's Marley Park 132km to Clonegal in county Carlow. We are walking approx 59 km of this 6 day journey in our 3 day hike.

Paudie fell over and couldn't do any more walking.

Today we were joined by my friend Paudie from Dublin and we walked 15 km towards across beautiful moorland towards Larragh Village and then onto Glendalough to where we saw the 2 lakes and the mountain views and then partook of the customary pints of Guinness. Tomorrow we walk the final stretch via the miners road and village across Mulacoor mountain and on towards Glenn Malure. We will also see the cave of religious hermit St. Kevin on our route. Camaderry mountain towering above the Glendalough upper lake. I think I once walked up it but we won't be doing that this time. What a relief!

The sign post at Boranotary bridge, turn off from the Glen Cullen road (and no we didn't visit Jonny Foxes pub). The sugar loaf moutain rising up in the distance took at long time disappear from view as we headed south towards Prince William's seat (where the Irish destroyed an English army) and on towards the Glencree river for our lunch stop.
