We were met by one of our hosts in the middle of a square, not knowing where we would be staying. Luckily it was quite close by and they meet all of their guests in the square to avoid any confusion with the narrow lanes leading to the apartment. It was nice enough, no outside windows, but it would do for a few nights. After a bit of a rest, we headed out in search of a supermarket for dinner. So we've just spent 2½ wonderful days relaxing and soaking up some proper sunshine on the beach in Ferragudo with the Blacks/Oliver-Blacks (Robin, Judith, Rosanna, Daniel, Layla and Molly - Hi Guys!) This was what we needed; a few friendly faces, beach time and flip flops! The good thing about going to a beach town is that there is no real sight-seeing required. The first class carriage on the night train was not entirely as grand as we expected, but it was still rather nice. A comfy little 2 seat/bed cabin just for us! After not being able to agree on what to have for dinner, we had a gin and caught up on some Breaking Bad and tried to bed down for the night - which is quite difficult sometimes on a train! We got a bit confused with the time differences so our alarm went off a little earlier than expected (about 5....

So, on our last night in Bordeaux, we got a message from our next host saying that he had to work until 7pm, so could not let us into the apartment until then. Bang went out first day on the beach! Arrived at the train station in plenty of time for the train to San Sebastian, all we had to do was print off our tickets. Well, we got one out of the machine but not the second…so faced with a massive slow moving queue at the ticket counter and only 20 minutes...

After the mental rush around Paris, we were both feeling pretty shattered and looking forward to a few chilled days around Bordeaux. We arrived later in the evening, checked into our new apartment and headed off in search of some dinner - luckily there was a little supermarket at the top of the road so we managed to eat in and save a bit of cash.
