Christmas on a beach - another thing to tick off the bucket list! Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas :) xx
Can't believe how amazingly beautiful phi phi is, not only that, on the side of the island that we were staying on turned into a mini Ibiza, along the stretch of beach that during the day was perfect for chilling and sunning it up! Couldn't believe my luck! Met some amazingly funny guys and girls that kept us entertained for the days that we were there-Jamie, Tom and Shaunna all travelling and have been for a while now!
Christmas Day was spent chilling on the beach, making a sandman and randomly burning one knee, which seemed to be the joke of the day :)
We needed to leave Phi phi on the 26th in order to get the 3:30 ferry to Krabi as we had booked a flight to Koh Samui. When we arrived in Krabi we headed In to town where the beach is and plodded up the streets lugging the backpacks to find a room. Room found, bags thrown and then off out to meet the Hushon-Browns and co. we grabbed some Thai food, not the best we've had, then headed to a few bars to watch football - anyone who knows me would know that I would have been trying to did something else to occupy me whilst the games were on - not the biggest footy fan but great to be with some familiar and well travelled faces! It's great listening to how much they love it here and in Australia :)
Yet another early start the following day in order to do some strolling around Krabi before we had to grab a taxi to the airport.
Whilst waiting for our flight to board to Koh Samui Bangkok Airways treated their passengers to free food an drink - a bonus to any travellers especially backpackers ha!
An hour or less on the plane and we were in Koh Samui, slightly overcast but that didn't bother me as we were pretty much spending the day travelling!
The hotel we had booked for the night was set with beautiful greenery surrounding the huts and although, to date, it's the cheapest accommodation - it's got the best views!
Aswel as the views Chaweng, Koh Samui was an ideal choice for the night as it had row after row of market stalls, including traditional food, jewellery, clothes and funfair style stalls including there version of winning a goldfish! Was great to sample some local life!
Out of the food stalls we played it quite safe, staying away from the cockroaches, crickets etc sticking to sweetcorn, octopus, chicken, pork and a banana/chocolate waffle mmm mmm!
We were both ready for a good sleep and kinda needed it with another days travel waiting for us in the morning! The one thing we didn't want was some singer blasting through the walls from a local bar till 1:30am. Found it quite amusing at the time but got a bit tiring towards the end - he finally shut up and let us grab a few hours kip!
The following day, today, included 5 hours travel from start to finish and has landed us in the Haad Yao Resort which is lovely and includes pool on one side, beach front on the other / a right treat!
Hoping to do lots of different things whilst were in Koh Phagnan and have 3 days before the Full Moon Party on NYE to see in the NEW YEAR :) wahoooo! I love NYE!
All this island hopping is great fun! So far so good :)
