Hello there my avid readers, thought its about time I gave you the real trip experiences and not all that detail that Jo keeps gushing out.
Cambodia has been awesome so far, really glad we are in a tour though as some places I just dont think we could get around without one, and its made getting on buses in the right direction a lot easier. The actual private buses we have used havent been great and in fact the public buses are a lot better. When I say bus I really mean a vehicle that thinks its a washing machine!
The driving in cambodia is mental, and with out a hooter I dont think you are allowed to drive, in fact that is probably the only driving test you have here. We've seen all types of things on the back of motorbikes, from 5 people and a dog on one bike, building supplies and even a large bamboo barrel containing 5 pigs. When driving on the highway- which is just a place for peopel to walk their cows, its impossible to sleep due to the drivers constant hooting, but it gives all 16 of us on the tour loads to laugh and talk about.
We're in this cool little beach town -called another namer I can never remeber or pronounce-howerever its raining, and pretty much has been since the infamous bike ride on the island. The rain comes down so hard here it stings, and then half an hour later its gone, and you're wonding if you'll ever be dry again. The bike ride we went on around a tiny river island was so much fun, even though I fell off into the mud and have had to through my shirt away.
We stayed in a homestay 2 nights ago, which was an interesting experience, but not one I'll do again. The was 8 of us in each house which is just a medium sized room on stilts, we slept on grass mats, a woke up to a very engergetic rooster. The rain made this not the best expereince but am glad we tried it.
It was then onto this beach town where we had a beach bbq last night, and a really fun ecvening filled with cocktails and drinking games. The other english guy and myself stayed up till 2 to watch the england game. Our boat trip taday was canvelled today due to the weather which is why I'm writing to you lot. Thanks for all the messages, keep them coming, and thanks to DWW andf the dude advice, however only cool people can use the word so I dont expect you to understand -man who lives in the sticks!
