Well, we didn't exactly take off on time. There were two problems with the plane: one in the toilet and one underneath. We were more than forty-five minutes late taking off. The pilot was able to make up some of the time, so we were able to haul our butts through the DC airport and barely make our connection... or so we thought. We ran to get on the plane, not taking time to get food or drink, or stop at the bathroom. Those of you who know me know how difficult that is. So, we made the plane, and then that one didn't take off on time either. One of the flight crew was AWOL. WTH? They never explained what happened to them, but we did finally take off. They finally fed us, and we were very excited, as we hadn't eaten in way too many hours. Then we tasted it. Let's just say airline food's reputation is well deserved with that meal. Poor Toria was sick and miserable almost all the way across the Atlantic, including when we were landing and she vomited everywhere. So, that was awesome. She had to sit on the plane in a puddle of her own making, and she felt terrible in many ways. We finally got off the plane, found a toilet, cleaned her up as best we could, and threw away her TARDIS backback because it just couldn't be saved.
We took the RER into Paris, and found our apartment, which is really cute, and Veronique and her mother were fantastic. Toria showered, and we hit the metro towards Invalides, where we hit a crepe stand for a little snack. We were able to buy museum passes there, which will hopefully save us time tomorrow at the Louvre. The boys went into the armor section, and the girls went to the special exhibit on Churchill and de Gaulle, then we met up in the gift shop. Shockingly, we didn't buy anything; we thought we better pace ourselves.
Next, we walked over to the Eiffel Tower and lolled about in the park for a bit so we could look at dogs and take some pictures. Toria got a cute little purse and we decided to get some takeout from Pizza Cesar, a little Italian restaurant we love, and have an early night since we're on day two without any sleep. Got our pizza, got our showers, and we're about ready to crash. Here's hoping we all sleep tonight, girlchild is miraculously recovered tomorrow, and that it's not too hot tomorrow, because they're starting a heat wave, and there's not a lot of AC in these parts.
Tomorrow, the Louvre, and we're not sure what else.

Sherry Crepes and pizza -- oh yes -- and sleep-- should fix everything
Leslie Here's hoping everything levels out tomorrow. A good nights rest should help.
