First Malaysian encounter is Penang. We don't really know what we do here, but we needed a stop on the way to the Cameron Highlands. Pulau Penang, a small island connected to peninsular Malaysia by the 15 km bridge over the sea has been taken over awhile ago, by a british guy that intended to break Dutch Melakas monopoly of the spice trade. Km 2750: Bangkok Fasten your seatbelts, cause we are now entering Bangkok, after a crazy drive at 140km/h swinging with the minibus from one lane to another. This city is always on the move. It is familiar enough to feel like a hot version of home, exotic enough to point the adventures ahead, it's out "decompression chamber". Ancient temples in the shadow of spaceage shopping malls, skyscrapers and cool cafes surrounded by simple street stalls, Bangkok...

The next morning we take the bumpy road to Siem Reap. We stop for a snack:Cata's choice: deep fried Tarantula and CricketsRovi's choice: sundried bananas and fresh pineappleWe get to the Angkor Wat Temple right on time for sunset. Not very impressed though because of the huge amount of people. The sunrise next day was very cloudy,so again, not what we woke up for at 5 am...:(But still, the day was great! 28/01We hop on a 12 hour bus to get to Nha Trang, Viet Nam's beach resort( some kind of Mamaia to me:)) except the thing that it was nice and warm, we sat on the beach, watched the sea and we looked at "fake or not fake" North Face products(the factory is here) we had nothing to do here so we boarded on another 11 hours bus to get us to Saigon.29/01-31/01These bus rides are a nightmare: no suspensions on super bumpy roads and the average speed is 40 kmh...
