Hi!
Well as usual - things have not gone entirely to plan. We were meant to go to Osaka yesterday but got up too late (as we thought we could check in a lot later than we actually could) and therefore missed our ferry to Japan. We have found a flight that goes out there for around 150 pound though so its only 50 pound more than the ferry (and only takes a few hours rather than a few days).
The night before we were meant to leave we decided to take a look at the local night culture - and by that I mean go to a really nice nightclub that was open till 4am. After stumbling out of there in the early hours of the morning we found a late night food road. Now in the UK this would mean a kebab and maybe a pizza - but in China this would be barbecued oysters, seafood and more kinds of meats on sticks you can imagine. I (Dave) had an oyster that had been soaked in garlic - it really was far better than it sounds at 4:00 in the morning!
In the day though we had gone on the Maglev train (reached 430Kilometres an hour!) and went to the 88th floor of the Jin Mao tower on the observation deck to see Shanghai from above.
Anywho fingers crossed our next blog entry should be in Japan! (We really hope!)
